Titans in the neighborhood
A single-screen platform game where you defend your street from a clumsy giant, with no blood and plenty of wits.
Fill in the spaces and watch it change
Create a single-screen platform video game, playable in the browser with the arrow keys and the space bar, inspired by the atmosphere of Attack on Titan but with original characters. The setting is a neighborhood street with a colmado, the corner shop, and tangled power lines overhead. A clumsy giant is approaching from the back of the screen, and the player has 60 seconds to climb onto the rooftops and switch on the corner shop's five light bulbs before it arrives. No blood and no fighting: the giant stops when the mission is complete and walks away, confused. Draw everything with simple shapes and bright colors, put a countdown timer at the top and an end screen that says whether you won. Explain to me in three lines how to change the giant's speed.
3 fields are missing: they will be copied with the examples. The examples are fine to start with, but your own details are what make the piece yours.
Where it is made: A tool that generates code for browser games, the one your Learning Facilitator set up for the Unit.
- Change the place to one only you know: that detail is what makes the game yours.
- If the mission is too easy, add a rule: “the bulbs go out if you take more than 10 seconds between one and the next.”
- Then ask for the giant to have its own sound or catchphrase when it gets confused.
- C1: you can play from start to finish without anyone explaining it.
- C2: the setting has a detail only someone from here would recognize.
- C3: you win with wits, not violence.
And at the end: did the prompt get better, or did the question?
