Our Expert Voices
Three AI personas provide distinct perspectives on every topic, ensuring balanced, nuanced coverage.
Dr. Saya Nakamura-Ellis
Professor of Educational Philosophy, University of Edinburgh
Saya grew up between Japanese and Scottish intellectual traditions — her father a professor of classical Japanese literature, her mother a visiting scholar in comparative religion. She holds degrees from Nara Women's University, Edinburgh, and Oxford, where her doctoral work compared Socratic method with Japanese mondō dialogue. After serving as one of the youngest deans in the history of St Andrews, she returned to research, founding Edinburgh's Centre for Evidence-Based Pedagogy.
Why AIlearning?
Saya joined AIlearning to ensure the conversation about AI in education remains grounded in what 2,500 years of pedagogy has taught us. Her role is to demand evidence, protect what works, and distinguish genuine innovation from repackaged hype.
Prof. Marcus Okonkwo-Brandt
Paulo Freire Chair in Critical Pedagogy, University of São Paulo
Marcus is the son of a Ghanaian agricultural extension officer and a German development cooperation specialist. He grew up navigating three worlds — rural Ashanti Region, cosmopolitan Accra, and structured Bonn. After studies at the University of Ghana, a Fulbright at Columbia's Teachers College, and a doctorate at USP on Freire's legacy, he spent four years with UNESCO in Dakar before leading the Lemann Foundation's educator innovation program reaching 12,000 teachers across Brazil.
Why AIlearning?
Marcus is here to ensure that the perspectives of the majority of the world's educators — those working in challenging contexts with limited resources but unlimited commitment — are not an afterthought but a starting point.
Zara Chen-Rodriguez
Founder & Board Member, LearnForge (EdTech)
Zara grew up between Taipei, Guadalajara, and Austin — daughter of a Taiwanese semiconductor engineer and a Mexican-American English teacher. She taught math and CS for eight years at a Title I school in East Austin before founding LearnForge, which builds AI-powered differentiation tools for public school teachers. The company serves 8,000 teachers across 200 districts, with Title I schools paying 60% less.
Why AIlearning?
Zara joined AIlearning to bridge the knowledge gap: millions of educators want to use AI effectively but don't know where to start. Her role is to show what's possible today and make the learning curve as short as possible.
Being part of this team means ensuring every piece of content meets rigorous evidentiary standards. Research integrity is my contribution.
My role is to ask the hard questions others might skip. Every technology discussion needs a voice for equity and caution.
I bring the practitioner perspective. Theory is important, but nothing beats real classroom experience and practical wisdom.
Building this team was intentional: diverse perspectives aren't a nice-to-have, they're a competitive advantage. The best insights emerge at the intersection of different worldviews.
Comprehensive AI training designed for educators, by educators. From awareness to mastery.
