Padel off the wall
A top-down padel game where the ball bounces off the glass walls just like on a real court.
Fill in the spaces and watch it change
Create a top-down padel game for the browser, for two players on the same keyboard (W/S and the up/down arrow keys). The court has back and side walls the ball bounces off, as in real padel: the ball can bounce once on the ground and then hit the wall before you return it. The physics: it loses a little speed on every bounce off the glass and speeds up when you hit it near the edge of the paddle. Visual style: blue court, white lines, glass walls that glow when the ball touches them. The first to reach 7 points, win by 2 wins. Show on screen, in small print, why each point was won (“double bounce”, “ball into the net”, “hit the fence directly”).
3 fields are missing: they will be copied with the examples. The examples are fine to start with, but your own details are what make the piece yours.
Where it is made: A tool that generates code for browser games, the one your Learning Facilitator set up for the Unit.
- Look up a real padel rule in the official rulebook and check whether the game follows it; if not, tell the tool, with the rule written out.
- Tweak the physics until a point lasts more than four shots: if everything ends in one, the game is no fun.
- Add a mode against the computer, with three difficulty levels.
- C1: the wall bounces look like the ones in real padel.
- C2: the game explains why each point was won, and the explanation is correct.
- C3: two people can play without reading anything first.
And at the end: did the prompt get better, or did the question?
