The power you didn’t ask for
An illustrated story about inheriting a power and your family’s expectations, with no bloody fights: the conflict is deciding.
Fill in the spaces and watch it change
Write the script of an eight-panel illustrated story, inspired by the central question of Invincible: what do you do when you inherit a power and your family expects you to use it their way? The character is original: a 16-year-old who discovers they can fly, in a family of famous heroes. What the family expects: that they protect the city and train every day. What the character wants: to use flight to bring medicine to mountain communities. No graphic violence: the climax is a conversation. After the script, give me a visual description of each panel so I can generate it.
4 fields are missing: they will be copied with the examples. The examples are fine to start with, but your own details are what make the piece yours.
Where it is made: A text assistant (chat), then an image generator for the panels, the one your Learning Facilitator set up for the Unit.
- Before pasting anything, each trio writes its answer to the question by hand: who decides what your talent is for?
- Before pasting anything, write by hand: “What we think will come out: ______.” When you see the result, note whether what you anticipated came out or not.
- After attempt 1, ask yourselves whether the story changed because the instruction was longer or because the question was better.
- C1: both positions come across, the family’s and the character’s.
- C2: the climax is a conversation and there is still tension.
- C3: we can say whether, between attempt 1 and attempt 2, the instruction got better or the question got better, and why.
And at the end: did the prompt get better, or did the question?
