An AI learning platform is offering to build a 'personalized learning profile' for every student — pulling in grades, attention patterns, response speed, error types, and content preferences across years. The pitch is real: better-tailored instruction, earlier intervention, more individualized pacing. The catch is that the profile persists. A seventh grader who struggles with reading in the spring of a bad year carries that signal forward. The vendor says the data is encrypted. The vendor does not say it is forgettable.
