Worked example: the Monday sports talk show
Worked example: a two-voice sports show that stopped making up results once the data was brought in from outside.
Fill in the spaces and watch it change
Write the script for a 3-minute sports show with two made-up hosts discussing PSG's latest Champions League match. I am bringing the match data myself, and here it is: score, goalscorers, possession and shots on target (copied from the competition's website). Do not add any data that is not listed here. One host is optimistic and the other is critical; they argue about whether the second goal was great attacking or a defensive mistake. End with a prediction for the next match, clearly labelled as opinion.
3 fields are missing: they will be copied with the examples. The examples are fine to start with, but your own details are what make the piece yours.
Where it is made: A text assistant for the script; for the recording, your own voice in the classroom or a generic synthetic voice from the catalog, the one your Learning Facilitator set up for the Unit.
- Attempt 1 in this example: “Make a show about Flamengo's last match.” The script sounded perfect and had the wrong score.
- What changed in attempt 2: the team brought the data from the official source and banned adding anything else. The tool brings the conversation; you bring the facts.
- Now you: pick your team's latest game, football or NBA, and copy the data from the official source before you write anything.
- C1: every piece of data in the script comes from the source you brought.
- C2: the argument between the two hosts has real reasons in it.
And at the end: did the prompt get better, or did the question?
