Your heroine in three universes
You draw an original heroine by hand, then the tool takes her into three different styles. The hand first, the machine after.
Fill in the spaces and watch it change
Here is a description of an original heroine I drew by hand: a heroine with a carnival mask, a white hood and high-top sneakers, who swings on webs made of colored thread. Generate three full-body illustrations of her, each in a universe with a different style, like in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse and Spider-Gwen: an acid-colored punk comic, a Caribbean naïve-painting mural and a 3D animated film. In all three universes these stay the same: the mask, the white hood and the colored threads. No text in the images.
4 fields are missing: they will be copied with the examples. The examples are fine to start with, but your own details are what make the piece yours.
Where it is made: An image generator, the one your Learning Facilitator set up for the Unit.
- The hand first: 8 minutes to draw her on paper, no devices. The description comes from your drawing.
- Before pasting anything, write by hand: “What we think will come out: ______.” When you see the result, note whether what you anticipated came out or not.
- Compare your drawing with the three images: what did the hand drawing have that the machine didn’t understand?
- C1: the heroine is recognizable in all three universes.
- C2: something from your original drawing survives in all three images.
- C3: we can say whether, between attempt 1 and attempt 2, the instruction got better or the question got better, and why.
And at the end: did the prompt get better, or did the question?
