A fake family that becomes real
A six-panel comic about an invented family where each member hides a secret, and they all protect each other without knowing it.
Fill in the spaces and watch it change
Write the script and generate the images for a six-panel comic, inspired by the tone of Spy x Family, with original characters. An invented family lives in a second-floor apartment above a bakery; each member hides a secret from the others: the dad is a secret dominoes champion, the mom used to be a race-car driver, and the youngest son understands dogs. In panels 1 and 2 we meet the family; in panels 3 and 4, on the day of the big baking contest the power goes out and the oven dies; in panel 5, each of them uses their secret to help without the others finding out; in panel 6, a quiet dinner scene where nobody knows anything, but the reader does. Drawing style: color manga, clean lines and simple backgrounds. Short dialogue, 12 words per speech bubble at most.
4 fields are missing: they will be copied with the examples. The examples are fine to start with, but your own details are what make the piece yours.
Where it is made: An image generator, the one your Learning Facilitator set up for the Unit.
- Write the speech bubbles yourself; image generators often get text wrong, so add it afterwards with an editor.
- The secrets work when they are useful for the problem in panel 3.
- If a character’s face changes between panels, describe their clothes and hair the same way in every one.
- C1: the story makes sense with no explanation, just by looking at the six panels.
- C2: the reader knows something the characters don’t, and that makes it funny.
- C3: the characters are recognizable from one panel to the next.
And at the end: did the prompt get better, or did the question?
