A stadium chant that doesn’t insult
A chant for the school team with the energy of a South American stand, and one rule: you cheer your own side, you never insult the rival.
Fill in the spaces and watch it change
Create a stadium chant about 45 seconds long, with bass drum, trumpets and a chorus of many generic voices, with the energy of the fans of Boca Juniors at La Bombonera. It’s for the school soccer team in the inter-school tournament. The lyrics are mine; a big group has to be able to sing them, and they don’t insult anyone: Come on, come on, this afternoon we win / with the sun on our faces and our voices giving in…
3 fields are missing: they will be copied with the examples. The examples are fine to start with, but your own details are what make the piece yours.
Where it is made: A music generator that takes lyrics, the one your Learning Facilitator set up for the Unit.
- The room first, then the machine: 3 minutes with phones face down to write what makes a chant stick in the stands; only then do you paste the instruction.
- Before pasting anything, write by hand: “What we think will come out: ______”. When you see the result, note whether what you anticipated came out or not.
- Attempt 2: change just one thing, based on the feedback from C1, C2 or C3, not everything at once.
- C1: the group sings the whole thing after hearing it twice.
- C2: it cheers your own team without insulting the rival.
- C3: we can say whether, between attempt 1 and attempt 2, the instruction got better or the question got better, and why.
And at the end: did the prompt get better, or did the question?
