The Notebook is where the Smoother Learning Methodology is worked out in public — what a new format keeps from the pedagogy, what it deliberately drops, who it actually serves, and the point past which it must not pretend to be enough. Published while the reasoning is still arguable, because a methodology that only appears once it is tidy is a methodology nobody can check.
