Every shot, another universe
A 20-second sequence where an original character jumps between universes and every shot has a different drawing style.
Fill in the spaces and watch it change
Create a 20-second animated sequence, in four 5-second shots, inspired by the mix of styles in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. The character is original: a hooded heroine who plays the drums and fires sound waves. In each shot the character jumps into another universe and everything changes drawing style: halftone-dot comic, flat-color Caribbean naive painting, watercolor and a pencil sketch in a notebook. One thing about the character stays the same in every universe so they are recognizable: her glowing drumsticks and her yellow hood. The action carries on from one shot to the next, as if it were one long jump.
4 fields are missing: they will be copied with the examples. The examples are fine to start with, but your own details are what make the piece yours.
Where it is made: A text-to-video generator, the one your Learning Facilitator set up for the Unit.
- Draw the character by hand first and describe it from your drawing: that way the character is yours.
- Generate the four shots separately and join them in an editor; if one shot breaks the continuity, redo only that one.
- Swap one style for one you know from home: an embroidery, a mural in your neighborhood, a page of class notes.
- C1: you recognize the same character in all four universes.
- C2: each style is clearly different.
- C3: the character is original and does not copy any existing hero.
And at the end: did the prompt get better, or did the question?
