Your prompt, live

Write the script for a 4-minute podcast episode about the history of bachata. Structure: an opening with what an adult at home told me about the parties where people danced when they were my age; three moments in the history of the genre (mark every date and fact with “VERIFY”); which instruments define it and how they sound; and a closing about how that genre sounds today among people our age. Mark the spots where an original instrumental clip will go. Do not quote song lyrics.

3 fields are missing: they will be copied with the examples. The examples are fine to start with, but your own details are what make the piece yours.

Where it is made: A text assistant for the script; for the recording, your own voice in the classroom or a generic synthetic voice from the catalog, the one your Learning Facilitator set up for the Unit.

How to personalise it
  1. Ask at home what people used to listen to. Do not name who told you: “someone in my family” is enough.
  2. Check the dates in serious sources (cultural institutions, books); UNESCO has information on bachata and merengue as cultural heritage.
  3. The music clips come from a music generator or are played by someone in the group.
Did it work?
  • C1: the dates and facts have been checked.
  • C2: the family memory makes the episode yours.

And at the end: did the prompt get better, or did the question?
