Example: the diablo cojuelo who can’t scare anyone
Worked example: a carnival comic that stopped looking like a generic costume once a local detail showed up.

Generate a four-panel comic about an invented diablo cojuelo, the limping devil of Dominican carnival, who can’t manage to scare anyone at the carnival of La Vega, in February. His mask is papier-mâché with short horns, little mirrors and a smile that is far too friendly. He tries three times and fails; in the fourth panel the kids follow him because he hands out mangoes instead of swatting them with his vejiga. Bright carnival colors, comic style, no text in the images.
3 fields are missing: they will be copied with the examples. The examples are fine to start with, but your own details are what make the piece yours.
Where it is made: An image generator, the one your Learning Facilitator set up for the Unit.
- Attempt 1 of the example: “A comic about a devil at carnival.” Out came a horror-movie demon.
- What changed in attempt 2: the carnival was named, the real mask of the place was described, and the group looked for a funny twist. Criterion C2 flagged what was missing: there was no local detail at all.
- Your turn: swap the carnival for the one in your province and look up photos of its masks before describing yours.
- C1: you can recognize Dominican carnival without reading any text.
- C2: there is a detail only someone from here would know.
And at the end: did the prompt get better, or did the question?
