Understand the why: the AI asks, it doesn’t explain
Instead of giving you the explanation, the AI asks you questions until you reach the why yourself, then asks you to explain it in your own words.

Context: I study in the Dominican Republic, in 10th grade. The subject is Biology and the topic is photosynthesis. Ask me questions at the level of my grade and of my country’s curriculum. How I like to study: visual examples. Use it to make it fun, but without leaving out anything important from the material. Here is a photo of my study material on photosynthesis. I want to learn, not for you to give me the answers. I want to understand the why, not just the answer: instead of explaining it to me, ask me questions that lead me to discover it, and ask me to explain it in my own words. 1. Let’s go in rounds of 5 questions, one at a time: wait for my answer before moving on. When a round ends, start the next one without my asking, until we have covered all the material. 2. Each round levels up: first remembering, then explaining in my own words, then applying to a new case, and at the end, mixing topics. 3. If I get it wrong, give me a hint, not the answer. If I get it wrong again, explain it to me, and that question comes back in a later round in different words. 4. At the end of each round, tell me in one line what I’ve mastered and what I haven’t. 5. At the very end, give me feedback based on how I did in this conversation: what to review (the topics where I got it wrong or hesitated), what to practise (specific exercises) and what to explore further (related topics I might find interesting). 6. Don’t tell me I’m ready: give me 3 questions I should be able to answer tomorrow without help.
5 fields are missing: they will be copied with the examples. The examples are fine to start with, but your own details are what make the piece yours.
Where it is made: An AI assistant that chats and accepts photos, the tool you use to study (in the room, the one your Learning Facilitator set up).
- Pick something you know how to do but couldn’t explain: that is where the missing why is.
- When you think you have it, explain it to someone at home in two minutes, without looking.
- If the AI starts explaining, remind it: “ask me, don’t explain it to me”.
- C1: you reached the why through your answers, not through its explanation.
- C2: you can explain it in your own words in two minutes, without looking.
And at the end: did the prompt get better, or did the question?
